Dr Pickett is a specialist in both Emergency Medicine and Clinical Forensic Medicine. She is an Emergency physician at Vancouver General Hospital – the Level 1 Trauma centre in Vancouver, Canada; the Medical Director for the BC Women’s Hospital Sexual Assault Service; and is also a physician at the Vancouver City Jail. She is past-president of the Medical Legal Society of British Columbia, and is a member of the roster of retained experts at the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands. Dr Pickett is a Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, and is currently the only physician in North America to hold both an academic degree (Master of Forensic Medicine, Monash) and Fellowship (FFCFM(RCPA)) in Clinical Forensic Medicine.
